NCC
The 1 Coy NCC with an enrolled strength of 160 Cadets,headed by Maj.Dr.A.Nelson consisting Boys and Girls,
is functioning in the college since 1961. Now the NCC unit of this college is under
the command and controll of 28 Kerala Bn. NCC Ottapalam which is under the Group
Head Quarters, Calicut.The details of cadets participating every year from this
college are as follows.

National Integration
Camp
It is a camp conducted for promoting national integration.
3-5 camps are conducted every year in different State and about 15-20 cadets are
participating from our college.
Social Service Activiteis
Cadets participating in tree-plantation, cleaning of campus
premises and public places, removal of waste plastics , awarness campaign of the
Polio, AIDS, Literacy Programme etc. Active participation of the Cadets during natural
calamities are also important.
Republic day, Independence
day, NCC day, and Armed Forces Flag day are celebrating in a colourful way by the
cadets. At the end of the year
there will be a Firing Practice to all the cadets. Around 60 cadets are appearing
for certificate 'B' Exam and around 15 cadets are appearing for Certificates 'C'
Exam conducted by Group HQ Calicut. Every year 5-8 cadets
are getting placement in the Indian Army Force and other Para-military services.

the ideals of selfless service among the youth to make them useful citizens.

of our vast country and has 1.3 million cades on its roll. NCC is the largest uniformed
and disciplined youth organisation of the country.In addition
to the routine activities N.C.C. promotes awareness on the menace of addiction to
drugs and the importance of protecting bio-diversity. Medical camps were organized
as a community oriented programme. One Cadet received the Best Cadet Award from
the Hon. Chief Minister. Four Cadets received Awards for outstanding performance.
Three Cadets got employment in the Army and Airforce. National Integration Camp
was also organised once.
N.C.C ANNUAL REPORT 2007-08
N.C.C. cadets of the college Sgt. Sangeeth, II B.Com, and Sgt. Mohammed Shereef, II B.A. Sanskrit, took part in the Republic Day Camp and Parade, 2008. Sgt. Sangeeth was the only cadet from Kerala Contingent to be selected to the prestigious Prime Minister’s Guard of Honor. It is for the first time in recent history that the 1 Coy N.C.C scales such heights of spectacular achievement. A two-day trekking expedition to Silent Valley was organized on 7 and 8 October. Forty selected 40 cadets penetrated almost 120 kilometers into the thick forest noted for its rich bio-diversity and rare species of flora and fauna. This unprecedented adventure activity would not have been real but for the generous assistance and monetary support of the 28 Kerala Battalion N.C.C, Ottappalam, as well as the logistical support provided by the Forest Department officials of Silent Valley.
N.C.C.ANNUAL CAMP
Seven hundred selected cadets, including girls, from 5 colleges and 26 schools under 27 &28 Kerala Battalion N.C.C battalions participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp conducted at S.N.G.S College during the Onam vacation from 24 August to 4 September 2007 under the auspices of 28 Kerala N.C.C Battalion, Ottappalam. The camp was inaugurated by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Rajat Mathur. The camp covered cadets of Palakkad and Malappuram districts. 6 N.C.C officers attended the 12 day camp. It culminated with a mock battle which sought to simulate the actual war conditions as closely as possible. The camp imparted new lessons and offered cultural programs, awareness programs, classes and discussion on a host of topics such the social evils of feticide and dowry, environment pollution, traffic control and AIDS. There were extensive firing practices and related activities that served to toughen up the cadets.
